WAKING IN OAK CREEK

As the Sikh community in Oak Creek, Wisconsin prepares for Sunday prayers, a deadly hate attack shatters their lives but not their resilience. In the year following the attack, community members join forces to address underlying issues of hate and intolerance in their town.

This film is a collaboration between Our Family Coalition and Not In Our Town to encourage conversation about the many diverse family constellations, to give children the opportunity to see and appreciate their own families, and to be open and respectful to those who are different from them.
